FULL DESCRIPTION

Meet your private English-speaking driver in the hotel lobby. Begin your journey and relax in a fully-equipped car while discovering the enchanting beauty of the Tuscany countryside. You will be accompanied by a knowledgeable English-speaking driver while you visit the valley called Val D’Orcia – an area known for their extraordinary cheese and wine. You will travel to an organic farm for a tour. The heart of the farm is a 300-year-old Tuscan farmhouse located on top of one of the renowned rolling hills with a breathtaking view of the town of town of Pienza, the medieval village of Monticchiello and Mount Amiata and the Orcia Valley. You’ll begin with a guided tour of the farm, stables and the dairy. Next you will experience a raw milk pecorino cheese making demonstration with the owner. You’ll come to understand how a traditional Pecorino di Pienza cheese is made. During the cheese making activity, you’ll be guided along the whole process: from the stable, to the fermentation to the aging. Afterwards, you’ll enjoy an amazing 4-course lunch with wine they produce themselves. Your lunch will include one of the most incredible views in the valley. After lunch you’ll continue your drive towards the famous wine making region of Brunello di Montalcino. You’ll reach one of Montalcino’s highest elevation estates located at an average elevation of 480 metres above sea level. This sweeping altitude, paired with the Mediterranean climate, makes for a selection of wines that tread a unique line between elegance and complexity. They are a sustainable winery and are working on becoming certified organic as well. They work with painstaking attention to detail and very low yields. You’ll have a guided tour of the grounds and expand your understanding of the wine production process, soak up the beauty of the estate, and enjoy the selection of wines available for tasting.
